Day 2 in Great Reaearch City is complete. Another long/busy day of orientation, training, and general running-around. But, everything is good and exciting and the types of things that would normally strike unreasonable fear into my timid heart are instead only inducing a small amount of anxiety-sweat.
I have been struck by a number of things in my first two days here.
1. Great Research Place still seems to be great, and I hope will continue to be a great place to work.
2. People are so nice. SO NICE. It's surprising that for a churning systemic machine the size of Great Research City that everyone remains pleasant and friendly, but so far this has repeatedly shown to be true.
3. People here are really dressed up. This confirms my status as a lazy slob.
4. I do hope I never tire of the tall buildings and busy people. There is something exciting about being swallowed up by it all.
